Personal injury claims come in many forms, such as
automobile accidents, physical assaults caused by inadequate
security and slip and fall accidents, to name just a few. The common
element of such claims is an injury resulting from the
negligence of another.
Negligence is a fancier, legal way of stating
failure to use reasonable care. When that failure results in
injury, the law recognizes that the injured individual can hold
responsible the person who failed to use reasonable care, and is
thereby entitled to receive monetary damages for the pain and
suffering caused by the injury.
Although the few extreme and notorious cases grab most
of the headlines, it is our experience that most individuals wanting
to pursue a claim based on someone else's negligence have real and
often serious injuries from which they would not otherwise suffer
but for the fault of another. While fully aware that money does not
erase the pain caused by an accident, we take a lot of satisfaction
in knowing that clients receive fair compensation, and their
suffering is somewhat eased upon the conclusion of a successful
personal injury claim.
