Boston No-Fault Insurance Attorney
If you are injured in a motor vehicle accident, one of the first things you may ask is: "How am I going to be able to pay for my medical bills"? Fortunately, under what is known as the No-Fault law in Massachusetts, your medical bills are covered under the insurance policy of the vehicle you were in at the time of the accident (or if you were a passenger, under the insurance policy of the vehicle that hit you).
Accessing this medical benefit, referred to as Personal Injury Protections benefits, does not have any affect on your insurance premiums and is available no matter who was at fault in the accident. Note that while these benefits are also available to pedestrians, they are not available if you were on a motorcycle at the time of the accident.
No matter what type of treatment you receive for your injuries- physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, surgery, diagnostic testing, prescription medications, etc.-that treatment can be paid for under the Personal Injury Protection benefits, up to a maximum of $8,000.00. The only requirement is that the treatment be reasonable and necessary and that it is for treatment of injuries relating to the motor vehicle accident.
There are also No-Fault benefits available for payment of lost wages that result from the accident. Under the No-Fault law, you are entitled to receive seventy-five percent of your gross wages for the period that you are disabled due to your accident.
